Miranda Chopping is no stranger to drama on the reality show, proving to be a divisive Farmer Wants A Wife contestant due to her frequent butting heads with Farmer Zac’s winner Maya. But away from the cameras, a different feud has been brewing between Miranda and runner-up contestant, Mieke.
Miranda claims that she once considered Mieke her ‘best friend’, but their relationship has soured as the season aired. “We were definitely best friends on the show. We made so many amazing memories that never made it to air,”
“Once we both left the show, we Facetimed every day and then she flew up to QLD and spent a week with me.”
These days, their friendship is nonexistent.
“We have not had contact since the episode where I had my solo date and she was sitting with the girls at the farm chatting about me,” Miranda said, speaking about a moment in the Farmer season where Mieke was seen speaking about Miranda with Maya and Grace.
In a bold move on Thursday, Miranda shared a video on Instagram taken of herself and Mieke in happier times, but she captioned the clip “This was filmed before I found out who her new bestie is,” referring to Mieke’s friendship with Maya.
Miranda addressed why she decided to upload the video despite her falling out with Mieke. “I wanted people to know we aren’t besties anymore, considering she left out key information in articles that involved me,” Miranda said.
“The whole situation was handled. I would say it was unfair.”
Miranda details falling out with Mieke after Farmer Wants A Wife
In an exclusive chat with Woman’s Day, Miranda revealed what shifted between the former friends after the farm.
“She often assured me after filming that she never went behind my back on the show, but when it aired that she was disloyal to me, it was then radio silence,” Miranda said.
Miranda went on to question Mieke’s friendship with her FWAW rival and winner, Maya. “Since then, I have read articles that she has become close with Maya, which shocks me after what she said to me about her,” she said, adding “If she’s saying this to me about someone she’s friends with, what’s stopping her from doing this to me behind my back?”
The Instagram influencer also questioned a story Mieke had been telling the press about receiving a phone call from Zac after the finale. Miranda claims that Mieke “left out key points” from the phone call with Zac. “He actually called the both of us when she came to stay with me,” Miranda claims.
Where do Miranda and Mieke stand now?
Since Miranda posted the video of the former friends on her Instagram, she said that she hasn’t heard from Mieke. “Unfortunately, she has not reached out to me,” she admits.
Despite her tough exterior, Miranda told Woman’s Day she still missed her friendship with Mieke. “I 100 per cent miss our friendship. I think going through the whole experience together creates a different bond and we were inseparable,” Miranda said.
“I was upset that I never heard from her again.”
In a previous interview with Woman’s Day, Mieke stood up for Miranda and her edit on the show, saying she had been ‘misunderstood’ in her negative portrayal.
