Six years after losing her firstborn daughter, Lisa Curry has shared a quiet tribute that shows just how deeply Jaimi Lee Kenny remains part of her life.
On the anniversary of Jaimi’s passing, the former Australian Olympian posted a photograph of her eldest daughter surrounded by a delicate floral heart.
“Remembering Jaimi,” Lisa wrote, marking six years since the 33-year-old died in Queensland.
Her message was brief, but the words that followed carried the weight of years of grief.
Lisa described Jaimi as “forever young and beautiful”, before acknowledging that there are still days when simply holding on can be difficult.
She also extended her love and strength to others living through a similar loss — a reminder that grief does not necessarily become easier simply because the years continue to pass.
The Daughter Lisa Will Always Carry With Her
Jaimi was the eldest child of Lisa and former ironman champion Grant Kenny.
She was born in 1987, followed by her siblings Morgan and Jett, and remained at the centre of the family long after Lisa and Grant separated.
Jaimi died peacefully in hospital on September 14, 2020, after a long-term illness, surrounded by her family. At the time, her family asked for privacy and did not publicly disclose the nature of her illness.
Her death left a family devastated.
Lisa’s earliest tributes captured the enormity of that loss, describing Jaimi as deeply loved and saying she would forever remain in her heart.
