The fullback was accused of “bottling” a tackle as Keano Kini pulled off a brilliant kick and chase to win the game in the dying minutes.
A thrilling match saw the Broncos and Titans take turns to lead before Gold Coast pulled off the “miracle at Suncorp”.
Adam Reynolds thought he had won it for the hosts with a field goal, but Kini had other ideas as he launched a spectacular solo run to cross and score.
However he should have been stopped after his delicate chip bounced towards Walsh, but the Broncos man hesitated and Kini pinched the ball to run clear.
Fans took aim at Walsh for his lacklustre defending, and not for the first time during the match.
“Awful from Reece Walsh absolutely pathetic,” wrote one fan.
“As good as that was from Titans Walsh absolutely bottled that challenge,” added another.
A third wrote: “Reece Walsh having another shocker. Absolutely rubbish in defence.”
Another commented: “Is Reece Walsh kidding??? He is a fraud.”
And a fifth remarked: “Can the Broncos drop Reece Walsh? His efforts in defence have been horrific.”
While Walsh could have done more to stop Kini, it was still a phenomenal effort from the Kiwi.
Fox Sports commentators Matt Russell and Michael Ennis were left stunned by the play, with the latter describing the Titans’ 28-23 victory as “the miracle at Suncorp”.

“I can’t believe what I have just seen!” cried Russell.
“That’s a try for the ages. This is, if it’s confirmed, one of the greatest tries in club history.
“It’s confirmed, it’s confirmed. It’s an all-time great try … This is just stunning.”
“It might be the play of the year!” added Ennis.
As for Walsh, his shaky defensive performance could not have come at a worse time with Queensland head coach Billy Slater set to name his squad for Origin 2 next week.
He was overlooked for the opener with Kalyn Ponga getting the nod, but the Knights star suffered a knock against Melbourne Storm on Friday.
