Aussie influencer breaks down amid complicated US baby drama
After falling pregnant accidentally following a shock divorce in America, a Gold Coast star posted a tear-filled video: “I want to go home”.
A pregnant Aussie influencer has broken down in tears after admitting she’s not sure who the father of her unborn children are – adding she’s now stuck in the US while she figures everything out.
Kimberley Hartley, who is best known on social media as Veruca Salt, gave fans an update after recently revealing she was expecting twins, just weeks after she announced her shock split from her American husband of two weeks.
In a candid new video, Salt admitted the twins’ dad could be one of two men she was “having casual sex with” in the aftermath of her divorce, stating: “So I don’t know who the father of my babies is.”
As if that situation wasn’t stressful enough, the 27-year-old – who tragically lost her son Cash at the age of just six weeks to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) in February 2024 – explained that while she’s undergoing prenatal paternity tests, she can’t leave the US, and is desperate to come home.
“I’m opening myself up for the slut-shaming critiques I am about to get, but basically I was having casual sex with two different men … so I don’t know who the father of my babies is,” she said.
“As soon as I found out I was pregnant, I told both of them, and you know, it’s not really been going well.”
The social media star is originally from the Gold Coast, but has been posting from LA since October when she first revealed her “surprise” yet short-lived marriage.
While it’s not clear what US visa Salt is currently on, she explained that she is currently petitioning for a green card, meaning she can’t leave the country despite the fact she desperately wants to.
“I want to go home so bad, this place sucks,” she sobbed.
“But if I go home to Australia, I can’t ever bring the babies to America, they probably won’t let me back in because they will cancel my petition.
“This place is strict.”
She went on to praise “how good Australia is to live in”, adding that she knew she’d be able to “have my babies safely” at home, describing her conundrum as “insane”.
Many of her 1.5 million TikTok fans were quick to flood the comments section with support, concluding: “This is really f**ked up.”
“Don’t be embarrassed. Girl same, mine was between 4 men,” noted one supportive follower.
“I’d just go home TBH,” added another.
While one said: “As an American, I’m picking Australia.”
It comes after Salt revealed she’d attended an American hospital after suffering bleeding, where she received an external and internal ultrasound as well as a blood test, and was sent a bill for $US 4239.69 (about $AU 6000).
“Birth is going to be about 70k,” one US follower replied.
“My daughter was born 4 weeks early, was transferred by helicopter to a hospital 1.5 hours away, was in the NICU for 30 days. $1.4 million dollars,” another added.
Salt has amassed a large following by sharing her deeply personal and dramatic life events.
The heavily-tattooed influencer is known for her raw, unfiltered content regarding her relationships and previous work as a sex worker.
