There was one final twist no one saw coming during the emotional Final Vows on Married At First Sight – and it came straight from the season’s strongest couple.

In what insiders are already calling one of the most powerful endings in the show’s history, Filip had a very special surprise planned for his bride – and it turned their Final Vows into something unforgettable.

From the moment they stood face-to-face, it was clear this wasn’t just another reality TV romance.

Stella spoke with complete certainty, declaring Filip her soulmate and promising to choose him every single day as they begin their life beyond the experiment.

“Standing here at the end of this incredible experiment, I can say with absolute certainty that we’re soulmates,” she said. “I feel it in every heartbeat, in every look, in every moment I get to share with you.”

She continued with a heartfelt promise for their future together: “I promise to keep choosing you everyday, to meet your strength with softness, your ambition with encouragement, and to keep laughing with you, learning from you and loving you in all your forms…

I found home in you and I cannot wait to build the rest of our lives there with you. I love you.”

Filip, equally emotional, reflected on how the experiment changed him – and how Stella changed everything.

“I came into this experiment looking for love. I’ve definitely found what I was looking for,” he said. “I can’t believe I’m walking out with the love of my life.”

He added: “You made me believe in love again, Stella. You have shown me what kindness, love and loyalty genuinely look like.

With you, I feel seen, accepted, and inspired to be better every single day.”

Then came the moment that sealed their status as the ultimate MAFS success story.

In a move that stunned everyone, Filip dropped to one knee and proposed!

“I know what my heart wants,” he told her. “Something just for us, something that is truly ours.”

Overcome with emotion, Stella burst into tears before saying yes, the pair embracing in a passionate kiss.

“I told you you’re my person, my soulmate,” Filip said afterwards. “It’s just the beginning.”

She later added: “Three months ago, I was a single pringle, doing the most unhinged thing in my life. I never thought I would go on TV and try to find a husband”.

While theirs was the only actual engagement, Filip and Stella weren’t the only lovebirds who committed to taking their relationship official, outside the experiment.

Rachel and Steven shared a sweet moment in their final ceremony, during which Steven admitted he’d been worrying he wasn’t enough for her – and had been holding himself back to try and avoid being hurt.

But finally, as he told her, that had changed.

“I choose you, and I’m diving in, head first, fearless,” Steven said.

On the other end of the scale, there was plenty of jaw-dropping revelations as two couples (dramatically) went their separate ways.

In arguably the most shocking scene of the finale, it appeared that Alissa was about to break David’s heart, given that he was in love with her.

But after beginning his speech with some sweet remarks … he abruptly dumped her.

“What I’ve come to understand is that with you there was no version of me that could win. If I pushed harder, I would’ve been called controlling. If I held back, I was labelled disconnected,” David told Alissa.

“I’m walking away because loving you shouldn’t mean losing myself.”

With that, he left – leaving a furious Alissa behind, telling producers (and viewers): “I just wasted three months of my life and now he won’t even listen to me”.

Ignoring the fact she was left in an empty room, she decided to tearfully read her vows anyway: “I love you, David, for who you are, but not for me”.

Meanwhile, it was a similarly brutal scene over at Bec and Danny’s final vows.

After telling him she loved him, David told her that she was his “soulmate” – but “as a friend”.

“I’ve come to realise there’s doubt in my mind if you are my soulmate as a lover,” he told a stunned Bec, who marched off to cry into the woods.
