“The television studio that we actively work in is actually built exactly like a massive concrete jungle, so there is absolutely no mobile phone reception inside,” Karen heartbreakingly recalled.

“I unfortunately could not get any incoming phone calls. I simply could not get any desperate text messages throughout the entire terrifying afternoon,” the devastated presenter emotionally explained.
“We are normally supposed to completely finish filming at 4pm, but thankfully I unexpectedly finished early at 2pm and happily went down to the underground car park.”
Usually, at that exact specific time, a completely relaxed Karen would always casually give her husband Aidan a quick phone call to happily check in regarding their evening.
“Normally, I easily get reception on my phone and I will ring him and simply say, do we need to buy bread or pick something up?” she explained.
“But I was surprisingly not getting any phone reception, so I quickly turned my phone completely off and then frantically turned it right back on again.”

The initial medical prognosis was incredibly grim, and terrified hospital doctors tragically told the devastated family that her beloved husband was absolutely not expected to survive the night.
While Aidan did eventually pull through the terrifying medical ordeal miraculously, he unfortunately faced an incredibly long, highly painful rehabilitation road ahead as he literally learned to walk again.

The talented young swimmer, who currently lives in Hawaii, had been visiting his deeply terrified family in Australia at the exact time of his father’s massive stroke.
When the young athlete finally returned home to the United States, he was suddenly and terrifyingly hospitalized, launching the family into yet another horrific, agonizing medical nightmare.
“I currently had my husband Aidan fighting in intensive care located in Sydney, Australia,” the completely devastated mother reflected during a highly emotional April 2026 podcast interview.
“Simultaneously, I shockingly had my young son Jordan fighting in a distant hospital located in Hawaii in the United States,” she told The Inspired CEO podcast.
Yet, despite facing completely unimaginable, soul-crushing medical odds, the brave television star has miraculously remained determined to continually think positively about everything her family has endured.
“I am incredibly grateful that these massive, painful life lessons are unfortunately being taught directly to my kids,” she bravely explained regarding her incredible family resilience.
“I hope that they will ultimately look at their entire life in a significantly more positive, highly appreciative manner moving forward after surviving this,” she added.
“And it is genuinely funny how the tiny little things that constantly go wrong, they can now just effortlessly handle it because they absolutely know I can as well.”
