‘Now we play the waiting game.’

Lynette Bolton has waiting for results in ongoing cancer battle:

TV personality Lynette Bolton — the wife of Sydney Swans champion Jude Bolton — has had a tumour removed from her breast in her ongoing battle with cancer.

Lynette, the star of Channel 7’s Travel Oz show, started chemotherapy six days before Christmas last year after she was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer.

Since then she has documented her journey and revealed Friday morning (today) she has just had a “lumpectomy” (or partial mastectomy).

“Now we play the waiting game … waiting on the official pathology results,” she said while sharing a photo of herself from her hospital bed.

“Thank you EVERYONE for your beautiful messages. One thing this journey has taught me is just how loved and supported we can be when we allow people in. Thank you for carrying me through this surgery and through the last six months.”

Jude, who was famously tough throughout his 325 AFL games for Sydney, also shared an emotional message on social media.

”Surgery done. ✅ So proud of the way you’re still smiling throughout this shitty experience,” he said.

“You have so much support and love behind you Lynette.”

And he was right, with TV industry people and AFL stars quick to show their love for the Boltons.

Channel 7 sports presenter Hamish McLachlan said: “Super woman. Super husband. Super family. Super people. Love to you all. You will get through it together. X”

While Kylie Gillies, co-host of Channel 7’s The Morning Show said: “Warrior woman ”

Celebrity and influencer Lana Wilkinson said: “You are a weapon Lynette.”

7NEWS Sports reporter Theo Doropoulos said: “Get em guys. All our love .”

Jude Bolton’s former teammates and famous rivals — such as Michael O’Loughlin, Brett Kirk, Joel Selwood, Nick Davis, Brent Staker, and Ryan Fitzgerald — also showed their support.

In April this year Lynette shared an image of herself on Facebook, with her hairless head kissing Jude.

“Choose your partner as if your life depends on it … Because one day it might ,” she said.

In February this year Lynette spoke to Channel 7’s Sunrise about her health battle. “We’re not unique, lots of people are going through it,” she said.

“I’m really trying to stay positive and what I love, the people going through the same thing — I just want them to understand that this can be quite a lonely thing, even if you are surrounded by people, so I really do appreciate the people that we have connected with and just let them know that we’re here for you as well.”

Lynette Bolton shares update on cancer battle while breaking hearts with message about Jude Bolton

TV personality Lynette Bolton — the wife of Sydney Swans champion Jude Bolton — continues to break hearts as she documents her cancer battle on social media.

This week she shared an emotional video of herself where she started to cry as she explained it was time to shave her hair.

Lynette, the star of Channel 7’s Travel Oz show, started chemotherapy six days before Christmas after she was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer.

“I have to shave my head today,” she revealed this week.

“My friend Marie brought me over a KFC bucket so I can wear that on my hair. Thanks, babe. It’s really patchy, like it’s really, really patchy.

“And it hurts,” she said as tears flowed … “It hurts to touch … and it just comes out. I don’t know if you can see that … it just comes out from touching it. It’s time to go.”

She said the hair had been hanging on for 12 weeks but now the Red Devil (the nickname for the chemotherapy drug doxorubicin) had “claimed it”.

“And I’ve felt good,” she said as her emotions again got the better of her.

“I haven’t felt like a cancer patient yet, and I feel this will be the thing that does it.”

On Friday (today), she shared an image of herself on Facebook, with her hairless head kissing Jude.

“Choose your partner as if your life depends on it … Because one day it might ,” Lynette said on Facebook.

The heartbreaking photo and the caption went immediately viral.

A Mum’s Bestfriend chief Danica Renee said: “This photo says a thousand words – simply beautiful ”

A fan said: “Some photos actually capture a million words. This is one of them x.”

“True love ❤️ He sees you Lynette Carroll Bolton,” another fan said.

In February this year Lynette and Jude spoke to Channel 7’s Sunrise about her health battle.

“We’re not unique, lots of people are going through it,” Lynette said.

“I’m really trying to stay positive and what I love, the people going through the same thing — I just want them to understand that this can be quite a lonely thing, even if you are surrounded by people, so I really do appreciate the people that we have connected with and just let them know that we’re here for you as well.”

Jude said he had been “blown away” by his wife’s resilience and the community’s support.

“We’ve all been involved with charities across the time but your world just gets shaken when it’s one of your partners, and it’s ‘wow, where do start from here’,” he said.

“You look at Lynette, and the way she just shows up and the stories that have come out, people saying I’m two weeks behind you, I don’t know what’s happened, the world feels like it’s been pulled from underneath me — and she’s been there for them as well.”

Jude is a highly respected past player of the Sydney Swans and a two-time premiership hero.

He is emblematic of the club’s famous ‘Bloods culture’ that powered them to a 72-year premiership drought in 2005, and their epic grand final win over Hawthorn in 2012.

In the 2005 grand final, Bolton famously copped a knocked to the head in the final term, and returned to the action in a helmet.

All the pictures of him celebrating that stirring victory are with him in the helmet … which he often pokes fun of.

“They say that (the hair) usually goes after the second, two or three weeks, after starting the Red Devil, and that’s where I’m at, so I was expecting it,” Lynette said this week (about her hair loss).

“I look like Jude …. Oh, f***. I’m getting punished for that. Karma. I’m getting hair in my eyes. … Anyway, if you see me walking around with a bucket on my head, a KFC bucket on the head, that’s why. Lots of love.”
